The brand was founded in 2010 by product designer Martin Jakobsen. His work is mainly influenced by minimalism and a penchant for finding innovative solutions. Brand philosophy is based on detailed work in terms of creating a simple, yet functional and aesthetic design.
Expertise Through Education
Mag. Art. Martin Jakobsen studied at several universities, including the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, and the Technical University of Liberec. Since 2025, he has been enrolled as a PhD student researching Glass as a Medium of Remediation using artificial intelligence (AI) at Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
In 2026, he undertook a study internship at Häme University of Applied Sciences in Hämeenlinna. He was also invited for a short-term academic visit to Aalto University in Espoo, consistently ranked among the world’s top 10 institutions in Art & Design. In the same year, he was selected to participate in the international workshops Glassmaking Between Tradition and Innovation held in Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia. His artistic research was further supported by a grant from the Kalliopi – Family Sommer Endowment and a creative fellowship from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
Award-winning
All originals are designed in our studio, and each piece is marked with the designer’s signature. We have received several awards for our work, such as the ELLE Decor International Design Awards, the Preciosa Foundation Award, the O₂ Award, Talent Designu and Outstanding Student Design, as well as nominations for the Stanislav Libenský Award, Czech Goodwill and Czech Grand Design.
We are represented by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Museum of Prague, the Prague Gallery of Czech Glass, the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec, the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, the Moravian Gallery in Brno, the Swedish Glass Museum in Växjö, and the Museo del Vidrio in Segovia.
