An idea to design the Lola etagere comes from a symbolic reference to one of the four elements of architecture – hearth. “In this work, I tried to understand an importance of this element and freely translate it into product design.” Gottfried Semper, an architect who formulated the four elements of architecture, described the importance of hearth as a place where people meet. “Fire, the center of hearth and the associated importance of preparing food, has become for me the impulse to create an etagere.” A product used to serve food that connects people around a table and interacts with its users.
